Antonia Feitz
Columnist

Antonia was inspired to write after being given a diary as a child. She's never stopped since. Though a little better organized with her computer, she still scribbles on the backs of envelopes, brown paper bags, the backs of receipts....

Before having children Antonia worked as a librarian. Unlike many of her generation she happily reared her five children at home. During this time she became such a prolific letter writer that she was interviewed on the ABC Radio's Media Report about her commitment. She's published a well-received children's book, a short story and articles.

When her youngest child started school, Antonia enrolled in a Music degree. Giving the lie to the feminist myth that housewives are mental vegetables, Antonia intellectually wiped the floor with the school leavers, taking out both first year prizes! Her academic record was so impressive that after graduation the Music Department offered her a job organizing and running the library.

Though Antonia has contributed to Upstream's "pinc" and to Enter Stage Right, her articles primarily appear in Australian community newletters and other publications some of which are regarded as disreputable by the powers-that-be.

Antonia lives with her husband and the last two children on fifteen acres a couple of miles from a little town of 2,500 people in regional Australia. ***
