Karen
Beth Pike was born in Milwaukee and best describes herself this way: I
can do it myself! has been my philosophy since I was able to speak the
words. In childhood and as I grew into adulthood, I have followed a self-reliant
lifestyle to the best of my ability. An independent child, I was forever getting
into (and out of) situations and learning the skills and ideas around the idea
of being in charge of my own life and the ability to take charge of the things
that I could control. As I matured and grew in understanding, I also discovered
that there are things I could not control, and it turned me to a deeper acceptance
of the power of faith.
To quote a dear friend, This particular lady - who has been, is and will always be a friend, has made my life forever better just for being there - all on account of the loving kindness that she has not only shown me, but shows all people in everything she does. A class act in every sense of the word, she personifies what it means to live a good Christian life - in thought, word and deed. Knowing her is indeed is one of the greatest blessings of my life, and is one for which I will be eternally thankful This same friend is the one who first saw my editorial writing in a Church newsletter, and has eagerly encouraged me into this larger, more visible venue. Indeed, one that may be far more volatile than the gentle acceptance of a religious forum. "
Karen is a 1985 graduate of Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Applied Sciences, and has found it to be an interesting degree one that put her on the path to the farm that is a large part of her lifes mission today. She has found the education that comes from living in the real world is sometimes far more valuable than the one received in the hallowed halls of the institution called a university especially with the left wing leanings being so oppressive!
Politically, she admits to a definite Libertarian stance, but the party runs
such unelectable kooks in her view, that she sometimes wonders if they have
given up on the idea of ever winning an election. The Constitution has been
under assault from the system for years, and a return to the ideas of the Founding
Fathers is her fondest fantasy. One who practices what she preaches, she lives
on a farm in Southern Wisconsin. ***
