Our Arab "Friends"
by Dave Gibson, Columnist

November 6, 2002

Dave Gibson How quickly our Arab "friends" - the Saudis, forget the debt owed the United States. Had we not stepped in and expelled Saddam from Kuwait a few years ago..., the Saudis would have undoubtedly been overrun by the evil dictator as well. Oh yes, the House of Faud was all too happy to allow the U.S. the use of its bases when it was in defense of their own posterior.

How times have changed. Our supposed friends will not allow us to launch attacks from Saudi soil. It is also no mere coincidence that the majority of the Sept. 11th hijackers were Saudi Arabians. The Saudis are no friend to the U.S.

There will never again be an 'Arab Coalition' to stand with the United States against Saddam (unless he attacks Arab neighbors again) because deep down... they agree with him. Like it or not... the next largest export from that region after oil is terrorism. The western world has been dealing with the threat of Arab-Muslims for the last thirty years. And guess what?... It is only getting worse!

I am tired of the lip service being paid to the United States by the Saudi royal family. I am also sickened by our government refusing to hold the Saudis as well as the rest of the Arab world accountable. I was disgusted to see a fairly recent interview given by the former President George Bush, in which he touted the strong ties between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. Where the hell has he been?

The bottom line is this: the only ally we have in the Middle East now is and will always be Israel. Many say that we pay a heavy price for the support we lend to that brave nation. However, the price they pay for aligning themselves with America far outweighs the threat of terror under which we are now living.

The time has come to form a wartime pact with Israel and our beloved friend Great Britain and in effect 'clean house' throughout the Arab world. President Bush made it very clear in an address to a much beleaguered nation several months ago in which he gave the criminal Arab nations a warning..."either you stand with us or with the terrorists". Apparently,Saudi Arabia has made their choice.

President Bush also listed several Arab nations as belonging to an "axis of evil"; the time has come to crush that axis, just as our parents and grandparents crushed the axis of evil dictators who threatened the world 60 years ago. Do our leaders have the same courage and conviction to do what needs to be done? Or have they all been emasculated by political correctness?

The Israelis have already made it known that if attacked by Saddam this time around, they will retaliate. So what is the problem? Are we afraid of the Arab world? Or just the leftist news media?

We may very well have to fight this one with only Great Britain and Israel by our side. Europe along with most of the world forgets all too readily the sacrifices America has made for that continent's very survival. The new socialist Europe has made it clear that they no longer appreciate all of the American blood which was spilled it it's defense.

Saudi Arabia is not unlike most of the world, in that it does not respect the United States and the sacrifices we have made so many times the world over. They have however, at least in my view, made themselves our enemy and are now in effect protecting Saddam Huessein.

The question now is...How do we deal with the Saudis? To use an old Special Forces term..."kill 'em all... let God sort 'em out!". ***
