Pass The Ammunition - It's High Noon
by April Shenandoah

Columnist April Shenandoah Recently, I said I was going to write an uplifting column because I think it is unhealthy to continually write about negative political issues. However, the only thing uplifting I can think of today is that my niece, Adina, just had a baby boy named Kaiden a couple of hours ago (Columbus Day). Unfortunately, I immediately started thinking about what kind of a world he is being introduced to. When he goes to school will his history book even mention Columbus? Sadly, he will never know the real America!

He will not have the memory of going to sleep and leaving his door unlocked.
He will not know that socialism used to be a dirty word.
He will not understand the true meaning of the Fourth of July.
He will not sing traditional Christmas Carols with his classmates in school.
He will not know teachers that discipline and teach morals.
He will not know that at one time men were men and women were women.
He will not realize that criminals actually used to go to jail.
He will not know that there was a time when everybody knew right from wrong.
He will not know the America we knew, the one we used to call the best country in the world -- a land filled with brave, proud, confident, hardworking people!

So much for uplifting! Well, I did have a few moments watching TV this week. Usually, I am too busy for television, but this week I was home and did a lot of channel surfing. Trading Places, a fun decorating show, gave me a great idea for my new bedroom. Glass icicles around the canopy of a bed. It was beautiful!

Then to my pleasant surprise, High Noon starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly was on. Was it a coincidence or a sign that I had chosen the right name for the prayer movement that asks praying folks to throw up a prayer everyday for America, at High Noon? I decided to sit myself down and watch the entire movie. I am so glad I did as it confirmed my use of the name.

The plot - the bad guy was coming to town to kill Cooper; however, his new bride of just a few hours wanted to leave town to go on their honeymoon. Cooper insisted on staying to face his enemy though his chances of being killed were emanate. The new bride said she was leaving him unless he left town with her immediately. Coop knew he had to confront the enemy now, or he would always be looking over his shoulder. Being the sheriff of the town, he tried to round-up deputies to help him. Not one person was willing to help fight this badder than bad, rootin-tootin outlaw. His scaredy-cat friends hid so that they would not have to put themselves in harms way. The ending of the film is clearly a lesson for wimps and an expose` of bravery. And when the chips were down Grace Kelly "stood by her man."

It really hit home while watching all the cowards of the town abandon Cooper. We who are crying out for America's freedom and its "origin of Biblical principles" are facing a similar scenario. The "politically correct" crowd has intimidated America's modern day cowards, causing them to stifle their true beliefs. That same "silent majority" will one day wish they would have screamed "freedom" at the top of their lungs and faced the enemy head on. There will be a price to pay for our silence. With God's covering we will have FREEDOM with out God we will have TYRANNY. God reigned in this country and blessed it for 200 hundred years. We cannot continue to shake our fists in the face of a Holy God and get away with it! Those of us using our *vocal ammunition must muster up "guts" that we didn't even know we had. It is time to be heard - it's HIGH NOON! ***
