Power to the Party!
by Ted Lang, Associate Editor

November 4, 2002

Columnist Ted Lang All across the nation tomorrow the ritual futility of voting will take place. In New Jersey, a very old retired man will be appointed, that's right, appointed, as a US Senator. The media monopoly in the Garden of Evil State wants Lautenberg, and the media-dumbed-down populace will do whatever they are told. Never mind that his initial selection was generated from the criminal activity of the New Jersey Supreme Court, the same bunch that tried to destroy and abolish the Boy Scouts of America.

And in Minnesota, "We'll-tax-their-asses-off" Walter Mondale, another retired old man, will be appointed by the media in that state. And of course the mainstream media's three stooges, Shenanigans, Brokejaw and Rather [than freedom?] will offer their "we're winning" unbiased commentary. All across the country, simple-minded voters will think they're making a difference and participating in democracy.

But who picked Lautenberg and Mondale? Obviously, the big shots of the no class/low-class criminal party. Which one of them offered the party platform reducing or abolishing the established but illegal income tax? Which party has offered to abide by the Constitution, and to continue to guarantee this government of the people, by the people, and for the people? Which party has come out strongly to protect all our freedoms as guaranteed by the Bill of Rights?

But which party has promised yet more infringements on our Second Amendment protections which allow us to arm and form militias to protect ourselves from an out-of-control government that takes 50% of our earnings, impinges on our property rights with environmental diktats and immoral property taxes, and prevents our freedom of speech to fight the media propped-up cutouts 60 days before election?

Do we really need still more gun control, a gathering of taxes greater than 50% of earnings, and more money to the teacher's union when our kids are getting the worst education in the history of our short-lived, former republic?

In New Jersey, the law was broken by a political group ludicrously identified as a "supreme" court, people sworn to uphold the law, not break it. But for political expediency, just as in the case of gun control or never-abating income and property tax increases, the law was ignored and in fact broken. But hey, it was all totally "legal!" How can government break the law? Aren't the government and the law one and the same thing?

We had a limited government republic, where government was also required to abide by the law. The New Jersey Supreme Court demonstrated selective justice - one set of rules enforced by badges and guns for the unwashed masses and street rabble, and another set of rules made up as the game progresses giving special favors to the Clintons, the Renos, the Torricellis, the Di Francescos, the Lautenbergs, the Mondales and so on. Stroke of the pen, tap of the gavel, roster of votes, "unanimous consent," law of the land! Kinda cool, no?

Isn't this how Hitler did it? Isn't this how lawyer V.I. Lenin did it? Isn't this how Stalin, Pol Pot and Zedung did it? Didn't it all boil down to party power instead of individual freedom? Wasn't it partisanship over the rule of law? So why are we surprised when politicians, elected or otherwise, break the law? As long as it's for the good of the Party, or "for the children," let's all get out there and do our civic duty. Let's all vote and legitimize their criminal behavior. And let's support gun control so we have no modicum of threat to the corrupt politicians who steal our earnings, our wealth, and the private property we worked so hard to acquire.

But if you absolutely believe there's any modicum of hope left, by all means, do your chad thing, or twist the little levers. Ratify the power of the party, and help politicians defeat stodgy old laws that they never obey anyway. ***
