What Has Happened to Hollywood?

Only a few decades ago, that California haven for America-haters was a much
different place. The film capital of the world got behind this country's war
effort and did what they could to help win World War II. What has turned 'tinsel
town' and so many people who make their living off of the American public against
this nation?
When I hear subversives such as Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins badmouthing the war and our president, it makes me wonder how they would have been received 60 years ago. I imagine they would have been viewed as traitors by the movie-going public and ostracized by Hollywood's powerful...effectively ending their careers. Oh how times have changed!
During WWII, many actors enlisted for active duty. Jimmy Stewart and Clark Gable both flew dozens of combat missions over Germany. Can you imagine today's actors doing anything other than running their mouths and criticizing? No, all these cowards can do is sit in their Hollywood mansions and look down upon the rest of us who support the war as rubes and country bumpkins! Make no mistake, the liberal Hollywood elite view anyone who tears up during the National Anthem or displays the flag proudly in front of their home as unsophisticated and very misguided. The truth is that they have little or no respect for the majority of people in this country, the same people who by the way... make it possible for them to become millionaires and pat each other on the back at their seemingly countless, meaningless awards shows.
60 years ago, Hollywood stars made patriotic movies, went on War Bond tours, entertained the troops, and even volunteered for active duty. Can you imagine the over-rated Martin Sheen, pretty boy George Clooney, or the judgmental Michael Moore (though I have never seen anyone in more desperate need of basic training) giving up their cushy lives and putting themselves at risk? Oh no, they think much too highly of themselves for that. God forbid they should have to rub elbows with rank and file Americans!
Today's 'holier-than-thou' celebrities could learn quite a bit about true patriotism from their predecessors. Director John Ford played an integral pat in the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), while popular radio star Kate Smith sold millions of dollars worth of War Bonds. Musician Glen Miller lost his life while wearing his nation's uniform. Heavyweight champion Joe Louis enlisted in the Army in 1942 and put on dozens of boxing exhibitions for the troops, he even received the Legion of Merit in 1945 for his dedication and duty (Can you imagine Mike Tyson doing anything to serve his country?). The Hollywood of today is so quick to criticize and bash America. It barely resembles the film industry of WWII, when one-sixth of it's actors and actresses served in uniform.
A great deal of the 'anti-war effort' coming from our swollen headed celebrities is simply more Bush-bashing (they still can't get over the 2000 election). Where were these so called 'peace-lovers' when Bill Clinton was bombing the hell out of Serbia, or lobbing cruise missiles at Iraq, or playing war in Somalia? The leftists were strangely silent when their leader was maiming and killing civilians. Why the double standard?
The sad fact is that many of the people who entertain us today, really care
very little for this nation and the men and women who defend it. They have shown
us their true colors. I hope we all will show Hollywood how we feel about them
and their disdain for this country. Let us deliver to these America-hating subversives
the one blow with which they cannot live...let us simply ignore them! ***
