WHAT
IS IT WITH THESE PEOPLE?
by Timothy Rollins, Editor and Publisher
You
have to wonder what it is with these people - you know, these peace protesters.
Granted, they have their right to free expression, and most reasonable folks
would never want to interfere with that right, but the fact is they just don't
get it - especially the Hollywood crowd, most notably led by M*A*S*H alumnus
Mike Farrell seeking yet another 15 minutes of fame and musician Sheryl Crow
in another air-headed moment of glory.
Over the weekend, in Washington, Toronto and other cities around the world, they gathered to rally against the possibility of going to war against Saddam Hussein - this despite the fact that U.N. weapons inspectors have found him to be in violation of U.N. resolutions in addition to the material breach order currently in effect.
When Sheryl Crow says, "we shouldn't have any enemies", it's clear she doesn't know what she's talking about - we're talking totally clueless here, folks. She has never lived in a time where her comfort zone has been threatened by a despot the likes of Saddam. Granted, the first President Bush should have found a way to eliminate Saddam back in 1991 after Desert Storm; consequently, the sin of the father now falls to the son for Desert Thunder, and now Junior has to clean up Daddy's mess, for lack of a better way to put it.
Like Kim Jong-Il of North Korea, Saddam has shown he is nothing more than the equivalent of a schoolyard bully in his little corner of the world. He wants it either his way or no way at all, and must be put in his place by the international community. President Bush is doing the right thing by not caving in to the crybabies among the whores in the mainstream media by not releasing to them information that is protected by legitimate national security interests - information those scum would leak in a heartbeat in an effort to further their careers regardless of how many people would die in the process.
The fact of the matter is they're more concerned in stroking their egos on the cocktail circuit than in protecting and preserving the freedoms of not only their fellow citizens, but also our fighting men and women on the line who are busting their butts for all of us - including the mainstream press whores seeking to betray them. But then again, the press just doesn't get it, nor will they.
As the protesters whined about with their cry of "Don't Attack Iraq", they showed their complete ignorance and lack of education on what is perhaps the most pressing issue of the day. It only goes to show just how determined they are at avoiding a conflict. In the process, they are showing they have no principles and no core values other than their devotion to being in front of a television camera and pursuing another moment of fame, however illusory. Kind of like the "Death to America" crowds of Iranians that appeared on demand when images were shown from Tehran during the 444-day hostage crisis that justifiably took down Jimmy Carter's all-too-long presidency.
Were that idiot Crow to really study the issue, she would realize that the Muslim fanatics she seeks to appease are the very same ones who if they had their druthers would kill her for failure to adhere to their seventh-century code of conduct and for not dressing in a head-to-toe cover (except for the eyes) as they would have all women do.
Which only goes to show that most of these television hogs and wannabes really don't know what they're talking about in the first place to begin with.
As if that were any surprise to begin with - which it isn't. ***
