One Woman's Warring Opinion
by April Shenandoah, Columnist

March 28, 2003

Columnist April Shenandoah This opinion does not come lightly; I have done my homework as best as I know how. I have listened to the news, to talk shows, to speeches, and have read books, articles and Internet comments till my eyes are blurred. Writing about this war does not appeal to me - mainly because I do not like knocking our leaders, especially at this critical time. Like most people, I want to support my president. However, my discerning spirit has revealed that we Americans have been a deaf and dumb people, and will now pay the price.

When the television and radio networks use the war as entertainment, it is time to take stock and ask why we are being fed war 24 hours a day. It's not about the war! It's about filling us with massive doses of propaganda. Whether you choose to believe the war is about terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, or liberating the Iraqi people -- it is all bull----! Military men have plainly stated, including my former Army son, that for the most part everything is calculated far in advance. The military and the government perform a task or cause an event to happen so that it will have the proper effect to gain public approval or public outrage - whichever suits their need.

If our government was truly interested in "safety" they would have restricted the flow of immigrants and closed our borders immediately after 9/11. Our leaders tell us one thing, but their actions reveal forked-tongues. Life will never again be unencumbered on American soil. As I've said before, this war could be the precursor to Armageddon.

War is justified only when we need to defend ourselves. Iraq does not fit that scenario. In reality we are invading a helpless people and their country - a take-over is imminent. What gives us the right to kill and destroy, and make demands on another country - their possession of weapons? Hogwash! What about China? Now there is a country that actually has weapons of total-mass-destruction pointing right at us - and they have the ability to reach our shores.

When the heads of state get together, it is a "political boys club." We are not privy to their "game" or their hidden agenda of bringing down the world's last superpower. France, Germany, China and Russia are not with us in Iraq because that is part of the "game." The center of global power is moving to Europe, Russia and China. For almost 100 years, the leaders of America have belonged to an international cabal that is hell-bent on establishing a global tyranny. George Bush is a part of this cabal. He has, perhaps ignorantly, led the American people into a well set trap.

During the Clinton administration, there was massive transfer of military technology to China. In 1994, the Chinese bought and dismantled a McDonnell Douglas plant in Columbus, OH enabling them to produce ultra-modern aircraft and cruise missiles. The Bush Administration has followed suit. For example, the recent sale to China of the GM plant in Valparaiso, IN that involved the moving of state-of-the-art equipment used for making smart bombs. As American industry relocates to China, a projected 3.3 million US jobs will shift there by 2015 (New American Magazine, March 10, 2003). HELLO!

Most of our elected and appointed officials are walking robots, doing the bidding of the UN and the New World Order. They abandoned the American people/dream long ago. Unfortunately, the good-guys (there are some) that are in leadership are ignorant of the facts and easy prey.

Singing patriotic songs and the sight of an American flag has always brought tears to my eyes. I love my country and still stand for what America was founded on. With that said, God has shown me that He loves the whole world, not just America. He wants us looking to the Cross, not a flag. When we tap in to God's truth we are set free - free from the world's view and the ability to be propagandized.

Iraq is one of the few Middle Eastern countries that actually allow Christians to participate in the government process. Saddam may be evil - most dictators are. But there is no evidence that he is a threat to America. Terrorism is a threat because it was planned that way. Make no mistake - if it is happening - it is planned! ***
