Democrats Still Don't Get It

The Democratic Party now seems to represent only the far left of America. It
is no longer the party which my grandparents supported throughout their lives.
It is not the party of Franklin Roosevelt, nor of John Kennedy. Today's Democratic
Party represents Hollywood U.S.A. rather than Main Street U.S.A.
The Democratic agenda was recently repudiated by the American people. On Election
Day, Americans spoke in record numbers and more than 60,000,000 of them chose
substance over style and decency over deviancy. However, Democrats do not seem
to have learned anything.
Despite the tireless, though misguided efforts of Hollywood's elite--most Americans
saw their way clear to the truth. Unfortunately for John Kerry, Bruce Springsteen
could not 'rock the vote' hard enough; P. Diddy did not convince enough young
thugs to either 'Vote or Die' (evidently Mr. Diddy did not realize that most
convicted felons cannot vote); and the left-wing propagandist Michael Moore
did Democrats no favors when he called Iraqi insurgents "minutemen."
America's left-wing has been out in force recently, questioning the intelligence
of American voters. Michael Moore commented that "Fifty-one percent of
the American people lacked information and we want to educate and enlighten
them. They weren't told the truth." Slate Magazine's Jane Smiley penned
a post-election piece entitled: "The Unteachable Ignorance of the Red States."...Never
underestimate the arrogance of the left!
The liberal intelligentsia just cannot accept the fact that the majority of
Americans are still fairly conservative and are not yet ready to turn control
of U.S. foreign policy over to the United Nations.
The Democrats blame this loss on the white, Christian voters (i.e. Rednecks).
However, Bush actually garnered 45 percent of the Hispanic vote and about 10
percent of the black vote. 25 percent of Jewish voters also marked their ballot
for President Bush. Do any of these people qualify as Rednecks?
There were two prevailing issues in this election, The War on Terror and the
protection of the American family. Those are two issues on which decent people
of all backgrounds can agree.
Contrary to what the left may believe, most Americans find the practice of abortion
to be unacceptable. In particular, they think the procedure known as 'partial-birth
abortion' to be murder. However, Senator John Kerry voted twice to keep that
abhorrent practice legal.
Eleven states offered initiatives to ban gay marriage. All of them passed easily.
Even voters in Oregon and Michigan spoke out strongly to protect the institution
of marriage.
As for myself, I hope that the Democratic Party continues to be represented
by the likes of Michael Moore and Barbara Streisand. Hollywood values do not
remotely reflect those of most Americans. The longer the Democrats remain out-of-touch
with America...the longer they will remain out of the White House. ***
