Washing a Dirty World
by April Shenandoah, Columnist

Columnist April Shenandoah We usually enter the New Year with enthusiasm and great expectations. So why should 2004 be any different?

For starters: wars and more wars, jobs leaving the country, an anti-American educational system out of control, higher prices but lower wages, and, evil is glorified while moral and virtuous people are considered dangerous And then we have: new technology along with government rulings intruding into our lives rendering "privacy" a thing of the past, inhumane experimental forced inoculations (causing illness) and chemtrail spraying (causing illness), the influx of immigrants with a government agenda to eliminate borders entirely, and property is being seized under the guise of environmentalism. More: the elderly are leaving their life-long homes because they cannot afford the taxes, good men and woman are defamed or eliminated for political reasons, teenagers are playing sex games, much of our entertainment is from the pit of hell, and The Constitution and the Ten Commandments have been obliterated. I could continue this negative bent but my stomach is churning. ("Knowledge without God creates intellectual barbarians." John Hagee)

What can we do when everything around us seems to be on a downward spiral? Easy answer -- do not participate or go along with what we know is not uplifting to the human spirit. We need to do the right thing whether we feel like it or not. The way to gage our actions is to ask ourselves; would we invite Jesus, Gandhi, our parents, or who ever we respect most, into the midst of what we are doing. We have a built in conscience, therefore deep down in the recesses of our being we know right from wrong. As I like to remind myself, everything is in a state of flux - at all times. So every relationship, personal habit, and world issue, is either in the process of getting better or worse - nothing stays the same (Daily Discipline Determines Destiny).

While visiting my photographer brother, John Q Steely lll, I noticed his trousers were muddy from his ankles up to his thighs. I asked him what he had been doing to get so messed up. He remarked, "It's a dirty world out there, they don't wash it everyday." At first it struck me funny so naturally I laughed. As I thought about it I realized how profound a statement it is. It is a dirty world! Who the heck is in charge of washing it anyway? Again, easy answer - you and I!

Biblically - the Word washes. It washes individual lives, and it will wash a dirty world. God refers to His Word as "Living Water." So if we bathe ourselves in God's Word we will eventually be the window washers of the world. [All traditional religions believe in God and have their own Word to live by. Therefore do not be intimidated by political correctness - being afraid of offending others. If one's faith offends you - shame on you. Respect the beliefs of others and you will be respected for what you believe.]

Think water (colorless fluid that falls as rain - some refer to rain as God's tears). Water is the substance of all life. It refreshes and it cleans. Women who have been raped often shower excessively trying to feel clean again. We wash our hands to be free from germs. We wash our vehicles so they are more presentable. We wash (brush) our teeth for fresh breath and to prevent tooth decay. We wash our clothes, for obvious reasons. We drink water for health (our body's composition is 60% water). Before we are born we are in water, and, we are baptized with water.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Physically and spiritually we all need a good scrubbing from time to time. Remember, where there is dirt there are spiders! Webs filter the light causing gray areas. It is in that place that we have compromised and have helped destroy the best country on God's green earth! Let's take a hose, a scrub brush, or even a brillo pad if we need to, and get busy washing our minds, our hearts, our tongues - our world! ***
