NOTE: In light of legitimate concerns raised over the original version
of this column, I have chosen to replace as well as update it with this revised
version. I believe this version is far more explanatory and will raise fewer
questions. The deeper analysis of this issue is such that I have chosen to break
it down into three parts, each of which will run separately as part of a series.
I hope you enjoy reading it, and welcome your feedback by your clicking on the

III. SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM
How do we solve these problems? They are solved on multiple levels and in several ways.
FIRST, we need to set in place a guest worker program where applicants are checked for criminal activity before being allowed in. We don't knowingly let in British bank robbers, French child molesters, Colombian drug runners or Russian hit men. Why should we let in economic refugees from financial hell holes like México and most of Central America unless they are willing to do it in a legal and lawful manner like everybody else? Yes, these people, for the most part, are hard workers with a healthy and admirable work ethic. The fact remains however, that they have to come in legally - through the front door - much like Americans who immigrate to other countries applying through official, legal channels of their new country of residence. This is something I have done twice in my lifetime, through immigrating to both Australia and also to Canada. In both instances, as a guest of the host country, proper paperwork was required to be filled out and fees paid in order to legally reside in those countries. While I am now back home in the United States, the fact remains that anybody and everybody seeking to come HERE, has to abide by the rules for legal entry. Just as I moved to those countries, I entered legally through the front door, and so should those seeking to come to America, without exception.
SECOND, guest workers may stay in this country for three years. If they do not get in legal difficulty during that time, they should then be allowed immediate permanent residency as a reward for abiding by the laws of this land. They would then become eligible for a special 'fast track' for citizenship after two years of permanent residency, for a total of five years 'in-country', much like legal immigrants who currently must wait five years before applying for citizenship themselves.
THIRD, all illegals in the country now are sent back to their homelands forthwith, as in yesterday, with no exceptions, no three-tier system for determining how long they have been here, nothing. They all go back, period. As for children born in the United States of illegals, they are to be either denied citizenship or stripped of it outright with no avenue whatsoever for appeal. If they want to come back to the United States, they may do so through guest worker programs or sponsorship by their current employer. If their current employer refuses to sponsor them, then that's the breaks, and they can find themselves another sponsor.
FOURTH, in addition - and because of the imminent and invasive threat that México and her people represent-Congress must pass legislation banning those holding Mexican Citizenship from holding United States Citizenship, to include U.S. born Latinos that took out Mexican citizenship a number of years ago. Such persons over 18 would automatically be stripped of their U.S. citizenship with no provision for reinstatement, and as such, would be declared illegal aliens and subject to immediate deportation. Dual citizenship - once banned by Federal Law and later permitted - should be outlawed, pure and simple. By virtue of naturalization, new citizens should once again be required to renounce all allegiances and citizenships with any other countries. The only federally recognized dual nationals should be those born in foreign lands as the children of one or both U.S. Citizen Parents, and then only recognize that until age 18, at which time the dual citizen would have to make a choice one way or the other.
FIFTH, erect not one, but TWO walls along the entire length of the U.S.-Mexican border. Have a "no man's land" in between the two 30 foot high walls that is about 150 yards in width. Place razor wires an additional ten feet high along the tops of the walls. In a tribute to our Eastern European 'friends', we should have water cannons set up and at the ready for those breaching either wall, spraying water in a cross - pattern. Just like unruly mobs, nobody wants to fight when they are soaking wet. When the world 'condemns' us, we ignore them and let them go about their way of insignificance and irrelevance, especially when you know that they would do far worse if they were faced with a similar situation on their home turf.
If as a nation, we need to have a 'México Wall' of our own in order to keep illegals from encroaching or rather, invading our nation, THEN SO BE IT. Be sure to have the water cannons at the ready to discourage the entry of illegals and have military personnel either walking stretches along the border at crossings or driving Hummers in patrol assisting overwhelmed Border Patrol officers. With the immediate return of some of our military divisions from Europe - where they are no longer needed or wanted by these ungrateful European infidels and their aristocratic and elitist attitudes - we will then have on hand fresh troops who would consider defending our homeland both a privilege as well as a sacred responsibility. If we were having this kind of problem at the Canadian border, then the same should be done there. But there is not this kind of problem with the Canadian border. It is only with the Mexican border. This is not an issue of racism; it is an issue of national sovereignty as well as national and homeland security.
SIXTH, should any Mexican or other foreign military unit from any nation, including the United Nations, cross over onto our sovereign territory - as México has done in the past - then the gloves come off, and our troops should have unfettered and standing authority to open fire and completely annihilate them from off the face of the earth, as we would any invading force entering our borders. Again, if the UN doesn't like it, they can suck eggs. While they're at it, they can pack their things, move to Geneva, and stop polluting our nation with their spies, thieves and other double-dealers of death, and finally,
SEVENTH, these good people (for the most part) who are seeking economic refuge here in our once-great land should for the most part stay home. They can, should and must fix up the waste lands and the problems of their homelands and turn them into the potential world class societies they can and should become, despite the fact that México's government is one of the most corrupt on the face of the earth. It is well known that Mexican corruption is so endemic, pandemic, systemic and epidemic, that if you took all Mexican elected officials and eliminated them, along with their families and every other living relative to the third and fourth generation, then México might have a fighting chance of becoming a legitimate and reasonably honest democracy, instead of the third-world banana republic it has been since time immemorial and will forever remain, until such time as the locals rise up against the evil cabals that rule Mexican politics.
Not until we have a forceful uprising against the hijacking of our national sovereignty and reaffirm our inherent right to self-defense and homeland security as Americans, combined with an uprising by Mexicans against their own evil, corrupt government, will either country have a chance of survival in either the short, or especially the long term.
Thomas Jefferson once said, "The tree of liberty must be watered from
time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." What better time
for making the fulfillment of this quote a reality than right here, right now?
