IN
DEFENSE OF TRUTH AND RIGHT

In
a chronic case of 'perpetual ego-stroking', Jesse Jackson - never one to pass
up a chance to jump in front of a parade, especially when a news camera is turned
on - was interviewed
June 1st by Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly in regards to Arizona's recently passed
immigration law. Keeping in mind that the more things change, the more they
stay the same, Jesse 'Charlatan' Jackson allowed his true colors to slime across
the screen yet again in another pathetic attempt to confuse the American people
on legislation that is really simple to understand. When asked if he had 'read
the law' unlike some within the Obama administration, Jackson claimed he had;
yet from his facial expressions, he clearly was lying, given that Jackson seems
incapable of honesty. However, to bottom-feeders like Jackson, truth is relative.
It only counts when it benefits his checkbook.
Despite the fact that Kelly - herself a lawyer - explained to Jackson that Arizona's SB1070 in fact has more restrictions on law enforcement officers (LEOs) than existing Federal immigration law, Jackson pitifully attempted to portray the law as evil incarnate; this, despite the fact many Americans - not all of them white - see Jackson as being both evil as well as a glaring hypocrite, particularly in light of his having knocked up his mistress in 2001 after he counseled President Clinton about his own infidelities a few years earlier. You know what they say about birds of a feather
SB1070 specifically prohibits LEOs from using racial and other profiling practices in stopping people regarding their immigration status, stipulating Arizona LEOs must have 'reasonable suspicion' to stop anybody under this law, and that race cannot be a factor. Existing Federal law lacks these built-in protections. In actuality, SB1070 is much more humane than what current federal law provides. Trust me on this one: If I were an illegal immigrant in Arizona, I'd rather be caught by Arizona's Highway Patrol than the Border Patrol, given the knowledge that Arizona would treat me more humanely than the Feds on this matter.
Despite knowing this, Jackson continues to rail unabated against Arizona's law, which does not even take effect until July 29th. What we have in Jackson and other blowhards like Keith Olbermann, Rachel 'Mad Cow' Maddow, and Chris Matthews on the Left, and Bill O'Reilly as the main blowhard on the Right, is a failure to comprehend that this 'new law' in Arizona is nothing more than a beefing up of existing Federal law on the matter, and that Jackson - once again - is not so much speaking out of both sides of his mouth as he is spreading his mouth wide open and inserting both feet all the way to the ankles.
When asked directly by Kelly why he was demonizing Arizona's law when it restricts police procedures in comparison to the federal law, Jackson sought to shift the focus from his fatally flawed, dead-in-the-water position, and started nattering about a comprehensive immigration reform. Well, Jesse, I am for just that - comprehensive immigration reform - that can begin once - and only once - the borders are sealed tighter than a drum. Sealing the border will allow for a fairly accurate count and time to be spent on reforming the law where it needs reform, without having to worry about floods of people entering the country illegally.
Jackson claims this is a civil rights issue, when in fact nothing could be further from the truth. There are millions of Americans of Mexican and other Hispanic descent who have come into this country legally, using long-established protocols, in much the same manner as those who have come across an ocean to be part of the American Dream. Jackson's attempt to play the 'race card' only shows to what desperate lengths he will go in order to remain relevant; not unlike what Barbara Walters did in her 2008 autobiography Audition, which just as easily could have been titled 'Confessions of an Octogenarian Whore', where Walters admitted a years-long affair with former Senate Republican Edward Brooke of Massachusetts while he was in office, and while he was still married to his first wife, only ending the interracial affair in order to preserve their careers.
All this goes to show is that liberals - even more than conservatives - need to be reminded of what is true and right, because in the light of politics, truth all too often is the first casualty, and right is scorned because it gets in the way of the ultimate aphrodisiac.
