TIME
FOR CHANGE
by Timothy Rollins, Editor and Columnist
With the 2012 GOP race now down to just two candidates, now is an even greater time for the American people to choose carefully if America is to be saved from itself.
December 6, 2011
With Herman Cain out, the GOP choices are down to two
Rockefeller liberal Republicans best known for their serial pandering and hourly
flip-flops. Consequently, it's increasingly clear the GOP establishment
seeks to send the Tea Party and other freedom-loving conservatives to a second
Obama term like lambs to the slaughter. What makes this unforgivable and borderline
treasonous is that many good voters within the Tea Party, Independents and Libertarian-leaning
voters, now realize the GOP is in it solely for themselves, at the expense of
all else. Yet the GOP continues to market their Kool-Aid®, despite their
continuous betrayal of what should have been their prize constituencies. No
sooner had the 80-plus Tea Party-backed freshmen taken office, than the establishment
GOP actively sought to co-opt them for their purposes, destroy them, or otherwise
eliminate them through redistricting.
Clearly, what we see here is a rogue GOP ripe for not only destruction, but elimination from the American political landscape. Over the last year, I've heard from many people - my youngest brother included - that a third party on the ballot would guarantee an Obama reelection. I have a hot flash for everyone here: America WILL NOT implode if a third political party enters the scene, despite all the false prophesying from doomsayers on both sides of the aisle. We've had third parties before; other developed countries have multiple parties that function quite effectively without falling into anarchy. Canada does, Australia does, as does the UK. There's every reason to believe the existence of three parties will present the American people a unique opportunity to place principle above party and use their votes to restore this republic to its former greatness.
Yet in all of this, there remains hope that Americans are wising up to the fact that the two major parties - in collusion with the media-industrial complex - are doing everything in their power to keep the American people under their thumb. What must happen - even as a baby step - is for either a third party or a merger of others for next year's presidential election. While it would be new in America, it's not unprecedented. In the 1993 election, Canada's Progressive Conservative Party was decimated; they went from a supermajority of 178 seats to two in the House of Commons. They rebuilt their party, merged with the Reform Party, later returning to power as a minority, and later a majority government in May 2011. Meanwhile, the United States now has its back against the wall; America is flat broke, having been bankrupted by a profligate Congress and presidents who squandered the nation's wealth like drunken sailors in a brothel.
As
the abysmal failures they have shown themselves to be, both Democrats and Republicans
have made manifest their complete and absolute incompetence, as well as a total
incapability to responsibly govern the nation's affairs. This is where the essential
need exists for a third and perhaps new political party to enter the American
political stage, and for the American people to realize that two parties clearly
cannot do the job; that someone else with new ideas needs to step up, keeping
in mind that America's
Owner's Manual is the Constitution, and must be the only guide by which
we follow the rule of law.
With only four weeks until the Iowa Caucus kicks off the 2012 presidential sweepstakes, now's the time for America to look at more than just the crap the media-industrial complex seeks to force-feed us. As a result, we're afforded an opportunity to take a real good look at one of the leading Liberty candidates, a Constitutional Libertarian who earned the endorsement of every Tea Party organization in Oklahoma when he sought election to Congress last year in Oklahoma's 4th District, and who now seeks the Libertarian Party's nomination for the Presidency of the United States. Clearly, the abject failure of the two major parties presents the best time ever for both the Libertarian and Tea Parties to come together, talk, share the best of their ideas for limited government and putting people and the Constitution first, and unite against the greater threat of a second Obama term, which will lead to a shooting war - a Second Civil War - as the Military will not take up arms against civilians.
In so doing, perhaps voters in 2012 will have a real choice and real hope that meaningful change can occur in America, instead of last time where they were robbed not only of their hope, but had their change pocketed as well. ***
