AN
OPEN LETTER TO MY READERS: I know it has been a long time for both my readers
and those others who have encouraged me here at TAP since I put out anything
regularly
and there has been a reason for that.
About three years ago on the way home from a political event in Oklahoma City, I suffered a massive stroke which was atypical as compared to that of most people in that there was no slurring of speech or body paralysis, but rather, a slow bleeder within the brain that was mercifully -- by the grace of God -- not allowed to be a full blowout, which certainly would have killed both me, as well as my wife, as I was driving at the time and the thing is, I was not fully aware of the severity of that until last summer when a subsequent MRI revealed the full extent of the damage.
I was blessed at the time with sufficient presence of mind to safely exit
the freeway without injury to either of us and no damage to the car. While I
still have more than sufficient driving skills to safely handle and operate
a car, I am still adjusting to my new definition of 'normal'; and while I am
and remain deeply appreciative of those who have stood by me, I nonetheless
ask for your encouragement and support as we look to get TAP 2.0 up and running
to new heights. - Tim Rollins, Editor
In both a clearly orchestrated sell-out by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) as well as a 'cave-in' to the forces of evil and depravity, the BSA announced they're 'considering' ending their decades-old ban on homosexuals as either scouts or scout leaders. Doesn't 'Pandora's Box' mean anything to anyone anymore?
When I saw the news flash from USA TODAY across my iPad, my jaw hit the floor. You'd think that in a day and time where just about anyone with an IQ in positive territory would think things through long enough for an Alka-Seltzer tablet to lose its fizz, they don't. Not anymore
When I first started writing 15 years ago, my first column was titled 'On My Honor', dealing with the issue of gays in Scouting. In it, I specifically wrote, "There are many gays and atheists who have made valuable contributions to society and history throughout the ages. Their positive accomplishments could be subject to a potential and unwarranted backlash..." and now life here has come full circle.
Like petulant brats who refuse to take 'No!' for an answer, 'they' kept pestering courts and other governmental authorities until 'they' got their 'desired' outcome. 'They' manipulated politically-correct American corporations and corrupt local governments to suspend funding to, or choke off Scouting from using city-owned properties at long-standing preferred rates all in pursuit of getting things their way, regardless of how many lives they destroyed in the process.
It's been said-more than once-that those who fail to learn from past mistakes are doomed to repeat them. One needn't possess a Masters Degree in Human Behavior to see this is merely repetition of a circular trend that the Catholic Church in America is only now beginning to emerge from.
As a rule of law, should the BSA cave in and permit gays within their ranks, it would not only kick Pandora's Box wide open, it would-as I've previously written elsewhere-take down the door and destroy the frame in the process. At this point, what's to keep the BSA from being forced to appoint NAMBLA leaders to their Board of Directors??
Just as the American Catholic Church had multiple dioceses forced into bankruptcy because of an active subculture of homosexuality within the Roman Catholic priesthood-wherein good, honorable men who chose to serve Christ were undermined and overpowered by a criminal element among their own-all because of predatory animals who placed lusts of the flesh above keeping the basic Ten Commandments, and in the process, destroyed individual lives and families, all because they couldn't keep it in their pants, so too, should Scouting must learn from Catholicism's mistakes so as to prevent Scouting's demise by turning the proverbial foxes loose in their underage henhouse.
Should BSA allow gays to serve as scouts or worse-scout leaders-what'll inevitably happen is that Scouting will become a target-rich environment for predators adroit at concealing their deviance after all, by the time persons like these are caught, they have on average, some 50-that's right-FIFTY victims in their wake. The Boy Scouts would be literally opening themselves up to, and in fact, be BEGGING for a sea of continuous litigation that literally would NEVER STOP, and THAT would KILL their organization outright.
With its three largest sponsors, namely three of America's four largest churches, specifically The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (The Mormons), the Roman Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Convention having joined with the BSA last fall in reaffirming BSA's ban and keeping gays out of Scouting, Scouting must not and cannot let gays in.
As a management principle, consistency at all levels is essential for success in any national organization. Either it's all for one in keeping the current policy consistent and retaining the prohibition, or if by caving in, 'selling out' and setting in place a per district policy, one guarantees the implosion of a century-old institution that all came about by selling out its moral values to the politically correct.
Some say it's a changing of the times. I say that's crap. This only happened because whiners and predators want easy access to the pure and innocent for their own deviate, impure and criminal purposes.
Should the BSA go through with permitting gays in its ranks, what will happen in the end is like Pyrrhus of old, the king of Epirus who sustained heavy losses in defeating the Romans, or the American Confederacy, is they'll both show how they won the battles but lost the war. ***
